Welcome to Goole Academy
It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as your Principal at Goole Academy. My name is Mr Harrison and I have a total of 13 years of working in leadership teams.
Over my time in education, I have learnt to exercise a high challenge, high support philosophy and my key focus is always to improve standards for the students in my care.
At the heart of my practice is a deeply embedded belief that every child is entitled to high quality education and we are now making this a reality here at Goole Academy. In August 2019 the students and staff of Goole Academy celebrated vastly improved GCSE outcomes.
Goole Academy now has 62% of students gaining a grade 4 in Maths and English, and 43% achieving a grade 5 strong pass or above in both subjects. These results represent an 11% and 14% increase respectively. A special mention for English with 78% of our students attaining grade 4+ and 65% attaining grade 5+. There were also significant improvements in Science, Geography and the vocational subjects. These contribute to a provisional overall progress score of +0.38 for the Academy.
These results are an indication of the strong teaching and individual support we provide for all our students. They are also an indication of the levels of support from parents/carers and the Academy Advisory Body.
I am extremely proud to be associated with the Academy and look forward to working with all members of its community.
Mr Julian Harrison, Principal
Delta Academies Trust
Delta Academies Trust, one of the largest multi academy trusts based in the North of England, is now placed second nationally in the Department for Education’s KS4 performance tables for Trusts with over 10 schools.
This follows the news in December that Delta’s primary academies were ranked first nationally in reading, writing and maths for Trusts with 20 or more schools in the equivalent primary performance tables.
Paul Tarn, Chief Executive Officer, said:
“I would like to congratulate students, parents and carers, staff, Principals, and local Academy Advisory Body members on these outstanding results.
The commitment of the Board of Delta Academies Trust to education in the North has had a dramatic impact for our communities.
I am delighted that children in our communities are now benefiting from what is recognised nationally as a high-performing Trust."
Julian Harrison, Principal of Goole Academy said:
“The children of Goole now have some of the best chances of an outstanding education in the whole of England. We are delighted to be part of the Delta family of schools given the information that has been published in the DFE Multi-Academy Trust (MATs) performance tables.”
