A Night At The Theatre!

On Monday evening, a group of our GCSE drama students had a fantastic opportunity to go and see The Last King Of Scotland in Sheffield. Staff and stuents were invited by John Tomlinson, a former Vermuyden student, who was inspired by his time here at the school and wanted to give something back.

John arranged a tour of the Crucible and Lyceum theatres and the wardrobe department for our Year 10 and Year 11 students. They got to view Sir Ian McKellans costume for the first ever production at the Crucible. They then had a Q and A session with John, the assistant producer and the stage manager. Finally they watched the performance of The Last King of Scotland.

Students were inspired by this visit particularly as it was, for some, the first time they had ever been in a theatre.
